I Qualified with a BSc (Ost) from The British School of Osteopathy in 1992. I later obtained a BPhil in Comp Health Studies University of Exeter 1996.
The works and beliefs of Osteopathy have been seminal for me. The philosophies
of Andrew Taylor-Still (The founder of Osteopathy C19th)
and his courage to teach them remain a beacon. His revolutionary principles
remain today as a light to his followers. A.T. Still as he was known
was a true pioneer in an age of US pioneers. Whilst others where rushing
for gold, he was applying sound body based principles to the Chaos that
was Medicine. He actively encouraged his students to engage in research
and to push the boundaries of his science. I hope he would approve of
my endeavours. |
|
| My own interest in this fascinating
science developed at an early age. I am privileged to
be related to one of the most influential UK Osteopaths
of his generation Sidney Rose-Neil. Sidney dedicated
his life to the pursuit of helping others. He helped
to bring Natural medicine to a wider audience in many
ways, establishing Tyringham Naturopathic Clinic in 1967
- a magnificent country retreat which treated patients
from all over the world. At this clinic he pioneered
the use of Acupuncture, Osteopathy and Nature cure diets.
His personal interest in Acupuncture grew and he became
one of the first British Osteopaths to visit China. He
threw himself into the task of promoting Acupuncture
and was a founding father of the British Acupuncture
Association GB. Sid ignited a flame in me, which is still
burning. Sidney died in 1999 but his spirit and good
works will live on forever. My contribution to Osteopathy
is in its infancy but I am enjoying the journey. |

been one of the most exciting and challenging things
she has done. |

some allied to Osteopathy and some, very different. She

injuries and care of pregnant women. Julia also worked
